Interoperability with RealFlow
Krakatoa provides support for Next Limit's RealFlow Fluid Simulator by allowing Loading and Saving of RealFlow Particle BIN files in several areas:
- RealFlow 3 and RealFlow 4 Particle BIN files can be loaded into Particle Flow using the Krakatoa File Birth and File Position operators in Krakatoa 1.0.
- Since RealFlow BIN files contain an ID channel, you can load dynamic particle sequences with particle birth and death into Particle Flow using Krakatoa v1.1.0 and higher.
- RealFlow 3 and RealFlow 4 Particle BIN files can be loaded into 3ds Max scenes using the Krakatoa Particle Loader object. All Krakatoa Particle Loader features are available as with PRT files.
- Any particles accessible to Krakatoa can be saved to RealFlow 4 Particle BIN files.
Note: Next Limit provides plug-ins for various 3D applications including Lightwave3D, Maya, XSI and Cinema4D. Thus, the Particle BIN support in Krakatoa implies certain level of interoperability with these 3D applications. There are a few quirks in using these plug-ins and BIN files with Krakatoa - see the BIN File Format Documentation for more details.
