Exposing Krakatoa Channels Editor Inputs To The Modifier's UI
Available in Krakatoa v1.5.0 and higher
Introduction
- In many cases, there are only a few significant Input Nodes that require tweaking by the user.
- To avoid the need for tweaking the Input values inside the MagmaFlow Editor, the Input Nodes can be exposed in the Modifier's User Interface.
- This way, Technical Directors and Technical Artists can set up the complex MagmaFlows and expose only the relevant controls for the Artist that will be tweaking the KCM and the MagmaFlow editor does not have to be opened to tweak these settings.
Exposing an Input
To expose a Float, Vector or Integer Input Node, right-click it and check the Expose Control item.
- The letter E will appear in front of the Node's Number.
- A new Spinner will appear in an "Exposed Parameters" rollout in the KCM's UI in the 3ds Max Command Panel.
- The spinner will have the name of the exposed node.
Alternatively, select one or more nodes and use the Expose menu item to Expose Selected Nodes.
- Only exposable nodes in the selection will be exposed.
Unexposing an Input
- To Unexpose an Input Node, right-click it and uncheck the Expose Control item.
- Alternatively, use the Expose menu Unexpose Selected Nodes option to unexpose any exposed nodes in the selection.
- You can also use the Expose menu's Select Exposed Nodes to select all Inputs in the MagmaFlow that are exposed to the KCM.
