MagmaFlow Editor Node Depot
Available in Krakatoa v1.5.0 and higher
Overview
- The Node Depot is an optional floating list of all available base nodes, with or without categories, plus optionally all saved BlackOps.
- By default it is located at the bottom of the MagmaFlow Editor but can also be placed on the left side or disabled.
- The various modes and options can be selected by right-clicking on any of the Depot buttons:
- When disabled via the Depot's Right-Click Menu Depot Off option, it can be enabled again using the View Right-Click Menu:
- When the Use Depot Categories option is unchecked, only the node buttons will be shown. The options to collapse categories will be removed from the menu:
Creating Nodes Using the Depot
- To create a node, drag it from the Depot into the editing area...
- ...and drop it where you want it to be placed.
- To cancel the dragging before dropping the node, move the mouse outside the screen - if the Depot is at the bottom, drop the node below the Depot, if the Depot is on the left side, drop it outside the left border of the Editor.
Auto-Collapse Depot On DragAndDrop
- When the option Auto-Collapse Categories on DragAndDrop is enabled, dragging and dropping a node from the Depot will automatically collapse all Categories (if Categories are enabled).
- This is useful when working with nodes from many Categories and you want to keep the Depot collapsed all the time.
- This mode requires two clicks to reach any node, but makes it easier to find nodes as it followw a Category>Node scheme, e.g. Input>Float, Arithmetic>Negate, Trigonometry>Sin and so on.
- When this option is disabled, the Categories will not be collapsed.
- This is useful when many nodes from a few Categories are needed.
- You can expand the couple of Categories needed at this point and directly access all their nodes without having to deal with collapsing and expanding.
- Obviously, the Depot will use up more space than in Auto-Collapse mode.
For example,
- With the Multiply node selected and the Depot collapsed...
- Click on the Input category header to expand all Input Node types...
- Drag the Float input into the editor area and drop it there:
- Since the Multiply Operator node was selected and had one Input socket empty, the new node will be connected to it automatically, while the Depot will collapse again to save space:
